Couch Wisdom with Dingo

today i was involved in a potitical discussion, and i use that term loosely, with some people over in the theatre building about the US and its continued involvement in world affairs. Now this is just my opinion, but here goes.

The reason that we have 3rd and 2nd world countries is because of our involvement. factories where workers get paid horribly low wages for work because the us and other world wealthy countries have factories in these countries is not as horrible as everyone makes it out to be. sure, the conditions are not, to the US, good, but think of what those countries would be like if we did not put money into their economy and they were left to struggle and still hunt and scavange for food. Don't use emotionally charged rhetoric when you are trying to say that we should feel bad for spending the money we do to buy the things that we buy because if you dont like it, leave the country. Live with the poor people. I would rather have a good life for me than a shitty life for all.

this is of course merely scratching the surface of what i believe and how indepth this debate could go, but i thought i would throw out my two cents.
