You know what I hate? I hate MTV. I really do. The network was once the voice of a rebellious and daring generation (or a generation posing as rebellious and daring). It is now, if I may steal a phrase from the film Untitled, "An Industry of Cool." If MTV had a new band on TRL with all those pimply faced teenagers in the studio screaming about how much they love the new song, that album's sales would be boosted dramatically that day regardless of talent. MTV has control of popular culture. I hate it.
